And always wanted. I can’t help but imagine the possibilities to develop my little kid’s mind and skills combining cool tech with simple tactile and social activities. I’m no expert but I would love to see a classroom with a couple of those cool Strukt tables (equipped with amazing apps) designed to interact with old-school crafty toys perhaps enhanced with RFID tags =)

Just place a toy on the surface and a cool story or puzzle will unravel…Well you get the idea =) Easier said than done but why not?

I forgot how much I enjoyed and admired Bruno Munari’s work ;) I wonder what would happen if his amazing children’s books got “translated” into an app for the ipad? Maybe the app comes with his awesome Pre-libri. It definitely should be reactive and intuitive…something like the amazing 555 kubik facade projection below, and also gesture based, like Munari himself no? Now I wonder if anyone would let their toddler play with a gadget like that… Perhaps with a super hardcore baby-proof skin/shell? :P
Looking for a little plant friend for my desk, I came across these incredibly beautiful Domsai by Matteo Cibic via materialicious. They totally touched the designer/sci-fi nerd/joker in me. Each one has its own personality – I think I’ll buy one through GSelect.
I like stumbling across products such as the “Handbag” by artist Yayoi Kusama, things I wouldn’t normally buy, but still know that there is someone who’s going to be super happy to find this and use it a lot (or maybe just collect it). I love the appeal for emotion in “lifestyle” products in saturated markets, and I’m obsessed with the new products by iida of Japan – a lot of their designs are amazing. You know, simple but not boring. Maybe it’s the colors and textures or maybe I just have a thing for the clamshell form factor, a bit forgotten by other top of the line brands this side of the world.
