La Lagunilla open air market in Mexico City is a great place to find unexpected vintage objects…amongst a myriad of other things. Loved shopping with a nice cold beer in hand =) It gives a different feel to the shopping experience that’s for sure. (more…)

When Bruno meets Steve.

I forgot how much I enjoyed and admired Bruno Munari’s work ;) I wonder what would happen if his amazing children’s books got “translated” into an app for the ipad? Maybe the app comes with his awesome Pre-libri. It definitely should be reactive and intuitive…something like the amazing 555 kubik facade projection below, and also gesture based, like Munari himself no? Now I wonder if anyone would let their toddler play with a gadget like that… Perhaps with a super hardcore baby-proof skin/shell? :P

Rain, rain go away…

It’s another rainy day in Toronto, so I’ve been searching for the perfect umbrella.  My favorites were via Likecool.com.  At top of my list is the Cloud Umbrella by Joonsoo Kim – a mini cumulus that can be inflated into a big cumulus to ward off the rain.

Though, more true to my sentiments today is the Fuck the Rain umbrella by Anton Shnaider..

The recovery room

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

Hey, nice postcard ;), I’m starting to appreciate stationery a bit more, it’s quite an art form isn’t it? I should get myself a couple of cards, the guys who printed our laundry bags for ICFF have very cute handmade stuff, would love to visit their cute store in Kensington Market but I guess I have to try and find something cool here :P

And coming back to the post title and image ;) “The recovery room” is something silly I’ve been thinking about, now even more that I’m feeling a bit crappy. I think it could be interesting to play with the concept of a “recovery” room or recovery kit to put a place into actual physical healing “mode” combining things like mood lights, acoustic panels, air purifier, humidifier, aroma therapy?, sunlight/no light, subtle sound/projections, a plant wall or nice pots and a hammock or 2 :). I wonder what children’s hospitals are doing right now, hmmm dunno what do you think?
